"Tinker Belle" (tnkbelle.gif, 606x767x2, 9355 bytes) is the 25th in a continuing series of fine Disney fanart drawings by Bob Ito <ito@[...]>.
When the last drawing ("Tinker-rug", tinkerug.gif) was posted, there was a lot of idle speculation on rec.arts.disney about what exactly this half- pixie, half-magic-carpet offspring was really supposed to be. As well as some wild speculation on what *else* it could be. Here's what Peter Olbach <pcolbach@[...]> had to say about it:
Newsgroups: rec.arts.disney From: PCOLBACH@[...] (Peter Olbach) Subject: Wierd net-art idea (was Re: RE: FDC MC *pops* the question (was Re: FDC MC asks a quest Message-ID: <PCOLBACH.73.2E580E30@[...]> Date: Mon, 22 Aug 1994 02:32:16 GMT [...] **Idea alert!!** Various net-artists (David Uy and Bob Ito come to mind) have drawn Belle as everything from a mermaid to a Buffalo Bill, and have posted the results as binary files on alt.binaries.pictures.cartoons and in anonymous FTP sites. So why not... Tinker-Belle! (tinkbell.gif) How about it? Any takers? (Or has it been done already?) BTW, why is Belle a favourite subject for such bizarre net-art? She's arguably the most level-headed of all Disney heriones, and yet she's put into all sorts of wierd and wonderful scenarios. (Well, she said she wanted "adventure in the great wide somewhere", and now she's getting a plateful... :-) ) [...]
Bob, of course, is never one to let a good idea go to waste (or, for that matter, a bad idea...:-), so here's his rendition of the little bookloving pixie! You can decide for yourself if it's a good idea or a bad idea....;-)
